Bob Hoskins

Two years after filming his final role prior to retirement (a supporting gig in Snow White and the Huntsman), actor Bob Hoskins has died at the age of 71.  According to a statement from his family, Hopkins died “peacefully at a hospital last night surrounded by family, following a bout of Pneumonia.”

While mainstream audience will likely always remember Hoskins for his bulky, wild-eyed performances in films like Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and Hook, Hoskins truly shined in nuanced character roles in such films The Long Good Friday, Brazil, Mona Lisa, The Cotton Club, Mermaids, The Wall, and Felicia’s Journey… the list goes on and on, as Hoskins had been an active film and television actor for 40 years, from 1972 to 2012.  He will be missed.
