We’ve gotten a hint of what Michael Bay‘s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be like from the first teaser trailer. It wasn’t much, but we’ve gathered that the film doesn’t take itself to seriously and might actually be pretty good. Now the first official posters have arrived online and they have this cool, mysterious edge to them. We don’t get to see The Turtles, but we do find out their weapon of choice. Check it out:

Directed by Jonathan Liebesman, TMNT uses motion capture to bring Raphael (Alan Ritchson), Michelangelo (Noel Fisher), Donatello (Jeremy Howard) and Leonardo (Pete Ploszek) to life. Though some fans were iffy about this process, the trailer reassured us that all turned out okay. Megan Fox also stars as April O’Neil and William Fichtner as the villainous Shredder. Johnny Knoxville and Tony Shalhoub also star.

In the movie, darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April O’Neil (Fox) and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett) to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan. As the posters show, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be released on August 8th, 2014. Here are the poster:

What do you think of the posters? Are you looking forward to TMNT?
