HBO’s new show Silicon Valley is getting praised left and right. The comedy debuted Sunday night after Game of Thrones, and the whole internet has exploded with nothing but awesome compliments for Mike Judge‘s latest. Anyhow, in case you missed the premiere or just want to enjoy it again (because we all know how expensive HBO Go can be), the network has made the premiere available on YouTube for free.
The show, partially inspired by Judge’s own experiences as a Silicon Valley engineer in the late ‘80s, mostly follows introverted programmer Richard and focuses on his compression algorithm hidden within his new music site. When his Google-type employer, Hooli, and a venture capitalist discover the algorithm, a bidding war emerges.
The pilot opens with Kid Rock performing at an expensive party by a startup company, of whom no one cares that Kid Rock is performing. Right away we meet our main characters. Here’s the premiere episode, check it out:
Silicon Valley has been called a nerdier version of Entourage, but aims to capture the startup scene. The show, which airs Sunday nights at 10PM, stars Thomas Middleditch, T.J. Miller, Zach Woods, Kumail Nanjiani, Martin Starr, and Josh Brener.
