It’s time to end the war before it begins, and the only way the mutants can do that this time around is by sending Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) back in time. Today we see the brand new trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past, and at least that’s exciting to see, because the poster is anything but that.
The present day is not what anybody imagined it to be as mutants are segregated, and are gradually being eliminated, from the planet. Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and Magneto (Ian McKellen) are desperate to save their own kind, including themselves, so they chuck Wolverine to the past in order to rewrite history and hopefully alter mutant kind’s future for the better. When Wolverine enters the past, he quickly finds out how difficult of a task that will be. Bryan Singer is back on board directing this picture with a vibrant all-star cast that includes Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Laurence, Halle Berry and many more.
The full trailer that we get to check out below is pretty spectacular, enough to get any movie-going fan pumped up for the summer. Comic book fans like myself have been anxious to see how the onscreen adaptation is going to be, and from what’s being shown so far, X-Men: Days of Future Past appears to be one thrilling cinematic ride. It’s just too bad I can’t say the same thing about the latest poster. When you compare it to the cool past-present Xavier and Magneto posters, this one is incredibly sloppy. It’s the kind that you always see associated with any superhero movie, clomping together as many major or semi-important characters in one poster as they can. Hopefully that’s not a reflection of what we’ll be seeing in this film.
X-Men: Days of Future Past is out in theaters everywhere on May 23, 2014.
