The upcoming TV series Gotham has an interesting approach for handling the Batman mythos—by not featuring Batman at all. Rather, the series will cover the era between the murder of Bruce Wayne’s parents up to the point in which Wayne becomes Batman, with Jim Gordon being the main character.
The cast has already been nailed down–Ben McKenzie will portray Gordan, Donal Logue will play his corrupt partner Bullock, Jada Pinket-Smith will portray a crimelord, and classic characters such as Bruce Wayne, Selina Kyle, the Penquin, and Alfred—and the plot has already been laid out: “an origin story of the great DC Comics super villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told…Growing up in Gotham City’s surrounding suburbs, James Gordon romanticized the city as a glamorous and exciting metropolis where his late father once served as a successful district attorney. Now, two weeks into his new job as a Gotham City detective and engaged to his beloved fiancée, Barbara Kean, Gordon is living his dream – even as he hopes to restore the city back to the pure version he remembers it was as a kid.” And now, an official shot has been released—Donal Logue as the corrupt cop Harvey Bullock:
Does the shot line up with your image of Bullock? Will you be tuning in to Gotham?
