For anyone who was a kid before the year 2000, Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang will always bring about childhood memories. (Bring on the tissues!) Now, two decades after Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz passed away, his beloved characters are set to hit the big screen for the first time. Fox and Blue Sky have released the very first teaser trailer for their Peanuts film, and it looks like they’re staying true to Schulz’ tone and material.
Back when Fox and Blue Sku announced that they were developing a 3D, CG-animated film about Peanuts, the big concern was that they would try to modernize something that didn’t need to be modernize. But take a deep breath because it looks like producer Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) and director Steve Martino (Ice Age: Continental Drift) have crafted something that honors the memory of Mr. Schulz. Here’s the teaser:
Right off the bat, we can say that there’s something really sweet and warm about this trailer, and we hope that tone stays true for the whole movie, which is set to hit theaters November 6, 2015. The filmmakers of this movie have stressed that they would honor the work of Mr. Schulz, and would handle the material “very respectfully,” and it looks like they’re doing just that.
