Excelsior, true believers, Stan Lee has been tasked with helping promote The Amazing Spider-Man 2 by narrating three clips from events that happen in the movie, while also setting up some cliffhangers of what’s to come. As you may have heard, Sony really wants to turn Spidey into their big Avengers-esque franchise, which means they’re going to work extra hard to make the latest Spider-Man film a huge hit.
And here we hear Stan “The Man” narrate about Spidey’s interactions with the Osborn family (and the first clip seems to feature a spoiler), The Rhino (Paul Giamatti) and finally Electro (Jamie Foxx). And — though it’s not surprising — it doesn’t seem to focus much on Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), but that may be harder to sell in these sorts of shorts. Check them out:
Is it just us, or does Mr. Lee sound a little off? He is 91 years old, so there’s that. But in these three clips there is new footage, and a better sense of some of what’s going to happen in the movie. We’ve heard some pretty good things about this one, and as long as it improves on the first movie, perhaps Sony will get their wish of an evergreen franchise. We shall see. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens May 2.
Do you think Gwen Stacy will survive part 2?
