Jupiter Ascending, the new film from Andy and Lana Waschowski (the sibling duo behind The Matrix Trilogy, Speed Racer, and Cloud Atlas), now has an international trailer. And, much like the film’s first ad, we have no idea whatsoever if it’s good or bad. In it, Channing Tatum plays a part-wolf/ part-human/ part-albino badass with a ray gun who is dead-set on rescuing a gal named Jupiter. And then some things blow up and then some other stuff happens in space. It looks like it could either fall into B-movie greatness like the original Matrix or arty mad genius like Cloud Atlas, or it could just be a clunker like the Matrix sequels.
But hey, again, Channing Tatum running around in Spock ears with a leather trench coat and a ray gun, chasing someone named Jupiter. That’s worth the price of admission either way, right? Anyway, check the trailer:
Jupiter Ascending co-stars Mila Kunis, Sean Bean, Douglas Booth, Eddie Redmayne, and Terry Gilliam. The film is set for a July 18, 2014 release date.
What do you think of the Jupiter Ascending international trailer—amazing, ridiculous, or both?
