Considering that it’s coming out in less than six months, it’s a little surprising we haven’t heard much about the Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot since pictures leaked from the set. But it looks like we’ll finally get our first glimpse at the new Turtles in about a month as there will be a trailer debut to accompany the release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
TMNT producer Galen Walker posted this on his Facebook page:
Ok- Cool Beans folks! the new “Ninja Turtles” Teaser will make it’s debut in front of the New Captain America Film- April 4th. We are ready and prepared for lift off! Been a long haul.
Considering the film is coming out in the summer, and considering that most other big summer movies have already released at least one trailer, it’s odd that this movie would wait so long to start promoting itself, but then again we haven’t seen a full trailer yet for Michael Bay’s Transformers: Age of Extinction either, and we wouldn’t count it out (that though had a Super Bowl spot). Both are likely to be loaded with CG effects and it’s better to release a trailer with finished shots than put something out that looks a little crappy. Whether the world is ready or excited about this new version is yet to be seen, but the film is scheduled to hit theaters August 8, and is directed by Jonathan Liebesman and stars Megan Fox, Will Arnett and William Fichtner as The Shredder.
Who’s your favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle?
