The Raid

Given that much of modern American cinema is series of near-exhausting inevitabilities, it stands to reason that the thrilling and relentless Indonesian  martial arts hit The Raid: Redemption would get an inevitable English-language remake (of course).  Further, it would be helmed by an inexpensive action director, such as Patrick Hughes (Red Hill, the upcoming The Expendables 3).  Of course.  Oh, and because it’s a modern action film, it will likely star a Hemsworth brother (actually, both)—of course.

Reportedly, Screen Gems is currently negotiating with Hughes to helm the unnecessarily English-language version of the action film, with a script from Brad Ingleby (Out of the Furnace).

Further, it is being reported that Screen Gems is considering Liam Hemsworth and Chris Hemsworth to play the estranged brothers at the center of the film’s story, which involves a S.W.A.T. team in a raid in a tower full of violent criminals.

What do you think of the The Raid remake news?
