Before it heads to theaters in late-March, Gareth Evans’ The Raid 2: Berandal will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival today. In light of that, Sony Pictures Classics and Stage 6 have released a new trailer for the much anticipated action sequel. Check it out.

In The Raid 2, the main character has to come to terms with what what went down in the apartment complex in the original film. There are new crime bosses now, and just all kinds of different drama. Our hero has to go to prison to get connected undercover, but soon finds himself involved in crazier situations. The film stars Iko Uwais, Yayan Ruhian, Arifin Putra, Oka Antara, Tio Pakusadewo, and Alex Abbad.

This latest trailer isn’t as slow as the first one we saw – it cuts straight to the chase. This clip is the one loaded with the action we didn’t see in the first one. So get ready for tons of blood and high-energy fighting sequences. Here’s the trailer:

Today is a big day for Evans – The Raid 2 is having its world premiere at Sundance. This means that sometime tomorrow morning we’ll be reading the verdict on this much-anticipated sequel. But from the looks of the trailer, The Raid 2 is going to be awesome, and it’ll be a hit when it opens in US theaters on March 28th.
