The CW was struggling to get the Wonder Woman television series Amazon off the ground for awhile, but apparently that’s all come to an end. It’s been announced that the prequel series is no more, and we might have an idea as to why that is.
Amazon has been one of those television shows stuck in development for awhile, and we can imagine why. Warner Bros has been busy putting together Batman Vs. Superman, and there were rumors flying around for awhile about the presence of Wonder Woman in the upcoming film. Recently it was announced that Fast & Furious star Gal Gadot would be starring as the Amazonian, which means we would more than likely get a fine introduction of the cool superhero on the big screen before the television show, that is unless The CW and company acted fast. There must have been something wrong with the formula for this television show because the president of the CW ultimately took a pass on it.
So what’s to happen with the project now? They’ve been trying their best to piece together a Wonder Woman television show again, the first incarnation successfully airing throughout the 70s. There’s no way that Warner Bros is going to give up on the project, but maybe they’re just waiting to see how Batman Vs. Superman turns out. They could take a couple notes from Marvel and just let Wonder Woman have her own show after the events of Batman Vs. Superman and the inevitable Justice League movie. There’s no need to rush her out on television just yet, or at least I think so.
Do you still want to see another Wonder Woman TV show? Why or why not?
