Quentin Tarantino has certainly been in a Western frame of mind the past several years—films such as Kill Bill, Vol. 2, Inglourious Basterds, and especially Django Unchained have been deeply informed by the director’s passion for Westerns, especially the Spaghetti Westerns of the 1970. So it should come as no surprise that, as the director mentioned last year on The Tonight Show, his next film will be a full-on Western. And now we have some details on it.
The film has a working title of The Hateful Eight, and Tarantino has completed the first draft. The draft is currently making the rounds to actors QT would like to see in the film, including Christoph Waltz (no surprise there), as well as Nebraska’s Bruce Dern (who had a cameo in Django Unchained).
Further news indicated that Tarantino is aiming to shoot The Hateful Eight this summer, meaning that the film could appear in 2015, which is already shaping up to be one of the most overloaded event movie years, well, ever, as The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Jurassic World, and Star Wars Episode VII are all slated for 2015 releases as well.
