While last month gave us the Christmas present of knowing that Paul Rudd would star as Ant-Man in the upcoming Edgar Wright-directed entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (titled, you guessed it, Ant-Man), it still left us with a number of questions. After all, unlike some other superheroes, Ant-Man has had a number of alter-egos throughout the years. So, which would Rudd be portraying?
Well, Edgar Wright may have just given the world a huge hint, suggesting that we may see both the Hank Pym and Scott Lang incarnations in the film (and we assumed Rudd would be playing Lang). The hint comes in the form of an image posted on Wright’s blog, titled “Homework”:
The still is from an episode of the Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes cartoon called “To Steal an Ant-Man, which in turn is based upon Marvel Premiere #47 (tip of the cap to Coming Soon, via /Film). In #47, Scott Lang is a thief who steals Hank Pym’s Ant-Man gear for criminal purposes before eventually becoming a good guy and assuming the Ant-Man mantle.
It makes sense, as Marvel honcho Kevin Feige has called the movie a “heist film.” We’ll find out for sure on July 31, 2015.
What do you think of the Ant-Man news?
