The nominations for the 2014 Golden Globe Awards were announced this morning and, fairly unsurprisingly, they were dominated by critical darlings 12 Years a Slave, American Hustle, House of Cards, and Behind the Candelabra.

In the film world, American Hustle and 12 Years a Slave each scored seven nominations each, with 12 Years a Slave looking increasingly like the film that will dominate the Oscars.  As far as TV goes, Steven Soderbergh’s Behind the Candelabra and Netflix’s House of Cards each led TV with four nominations apiece.  Surprisingly, the final season of Breaking Bad only grabbed three—a nod for Best Drama TV series, and acting nods for Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul.  Oh well.
