DF-11070-Edit - Ben Stiller in THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY.

We’re right at the end of the year, which means that there’s one last push of movies that will be making their way into theaters within a matter of days. One of them that’s caught the public’s general interest is Ben Stiller‘s re-imagined take on The Secret Life of WalterMitty, due out in theaters this Christmas Day, but it’s not until now that we’ve been blessed with a cool extended look on the film.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is a remake to a certain degree, but from the trailer below it appears to be more of it’s own unique film compared to the 1947 movie. Ben Stiller stars as the daydreamer Walter Mitty whose work on the final Life magazine brings him on an adventure that he never thought he would ever encounter. The movie appears to be lighthearted, hopeful with the saturation of colors and carefully placed camera shots in each scene. At the very least it shows Stiller’s intriguing look at the world behind a camera lens.

Did we need six minutes worth of a preview? Perhaps, but at least we got a better grasp of the story. And from the trailer below, it doesn’t appear like there’s much of a villain to clash against Walter Mitty. Yes we get a glimpse of Adam Scott‘s character, but if Mitty is traveling around the world then I’m not sure what to make of it. My hopes aren’t raised incredibly high for this movie at the moment but I’ll certainly give it a chance when it comes out in theaters.

Will you see The Secret Life of Walter Mitty when it’s out on theaters this Christmas?
