Edgar Wright

Everyone knows that The World’s End director Edgar Wright is busy at work finally making Marvel’s Ant-Man, but that’s not the only project that some people are buzzing about. It’s been reported for awhile that he will be collaborating with writer Mark Protosevich on a new picture, but we weren’t entirely sure what it would center on until now.

Oldboy and I Am Legend screenwriter Mark Protosevich let a little bit of information slip out about his new cool project with Edgar Wright recently. This is what he said on the subject (via Ain’t It Cool News):

“The one thing I’ll say is that Edgar’s movies have a certain tone, and this one might be a little unexpected because the main thing we’re going for is scary. Smart and scary.”

Now what exactly does that mean? Well first we’re going to be gifted with a flat out thriller-filled Edgar Wright movie. It’s still unknown as to what the movie will be about but surely it’ll be good. After all, Edgar Wright has made one fantastic film after another. Sorry people but I don’t really care what your thoughts were on Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, I thought it was a great movie.

There’s one film that’s been left in limbo for awhile that Mark Protosevich is set to work on and that’s Freakshow. The project is based off a cool sci-fi thriller comic created by Jackson Lanzig and David Server, but the upcoming movie hasn’t been pushed through development in some time. It would be incredibly cool if this was the project Wright and Protosevich were working on, but that’s just wishful thinking on my part. Be sure to check out Protosevich’s work as the Oldboy remake hits the big screen today.

Will you be watching the Oldboy remake in theaters this Thanksgiving weekend?
