One thing you can always count on during the week of Thanksgiving—most people have pretty well clocked out and are coasting towards the long weekend.  Thus, we have days like today, when the announcement of a premiere date to a comic book movie sequel to a comic book movie that was pretty aggressively mediocre actually counts as news.  And so, we have a premiere date for The Amazing Spider-Man 2’s first trailer for you.

So when’s the big date, in which you’ll be able to see newest adventures of Spider-Man as he swings around CGI cityscapes while being forced to fight second-tier Big Bads like Electro and the Rhino because Sam Raimi’s original trilogy used most of the marquee villains and the first film in this rebooted franchise totally wasted the Lizard?  December 5th.  That’s right, on December 5th you can watch a sneak preview to the trailer on Good Morning America, and then see the full thing online.  And beginning on December 13th, you can watch the trailer in theaters, where it will be attached to The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

Again, forgive us such a silly post, but hey, it’s the holidays.  Show a little mercy.

What do you think of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 news?
