In what’s becoming an increasingly disheartening daily tradition in entertainment news, it’s time for yet another news post in which we guess who will play a prominent role in an upcoming blockbuster, rather than just waiting a few more weeks for the casting news to be announced by the studio. Today’s target: a possible candidate for the role of Superman arch-villain Lex Luthor in the upcoming Batman Vs. Superman.
Because only an actor we’ve already known to be bald can play Lex Luthor (see also: Bryan Cranston), the latest Lex Luthor casting rumor has now fallen upon the shiny, hairless plate of actor Terry O’Quinn. Reportedly, O’Quinn is on Batman Vs. Superman director Zack Snyder’s shortlist.
O’Quinn is a solid actor—his two most famous roles alone (in The Stepfather and Lost) have shown him to be adept and playing characters that range from villainous to mysterious and hyper-intellectual, all things necessary for a Lex Luthor performance. And, oh yeah, he’s bald, so it just has to be him, right?
So let’s just agree that O’Quinn has been cast, OK? Because we can’t keep doing this, guys. We can’t keep pretending this is official news. So Terry O’Quinn is Lex Luthor! Whoohooo! Glad that’s settled.
What do you think of the Lex Luthor news?
