batman-vs-superman

While today might be a holiday, it wouldn’t make sense for a single day to past without some form of blockbuster spoiler-news/rumors.  And today, the onus falls upon the upcoming Batman Vs. Superman to shake less a few flakes of semi-plausible “news” for us to brutally dissect and obsess over.

Both come via Kevin Smith, who, in lieu of actually directing, has spent the last several years saying things on the internet (which, hey, at least he’s not directing anything) via his Smodcast Network.  During a recent discussion with director Zack Snyder to hype the Tuesday release of the Man of Steel blu-ray, Zack dropped what the all-powerful Internet is now declaring a hint: “At its core, Superman is an alien. He comes from an alien world … Lex loves to call him an alien.”

See that?  Did you see that?!?  Zack Snyder mentioned the character name Lex Luthor!  That means that Lex Luthor will be in Batman Vs. Superman, don’t you understand?  Why else would you mention and incredibly prevalent and common Superman character unless you were trying send fans secret messages via the internet?

Further, Smith leaked during a podcast that he has seen Ben Affleck in the new batsuit:

I saw the costume, more than that I saw him [Ben Affleck] in the costume…I don’t want to give anything away cause that is up to them and stuff, but I am going to say this…I instantly bear hugged him. You have not seen this costume in a movie, on film before. For a comb book fan, it was mind-bending… Because every other movie has done this matrixy black armor thing…There wasn’t a single nipple on this fucking suit man… I think everyone is just gonna be like ‘Holy Shit!’ It’s its own thing, man. We haven’t been down this path before…. There’s a very [beep]-influence to it, I would say.

So there you have it—the new batsuit exists, and Lex Luthor’s first name was mentioned by Zack Snyder,  so we must assume he is in the movie.  And he’ll probably wear the batsuit, right?

What do you think of the Batman Vs. Superman news?
