Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is shakily finding their footing as a series, but before they find their own unique voice Marvel and company are going to take advantage of their new show in a rather unique way. What we have below is a small bit of information on a future episode airing later this month and how hopefully it will help better the series.

We all know that Thor: The Dark World is coming out this Friday, and so does the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. writers.  In order to tie the worlds together (see what I did there?) a later episode of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be dealing with the end result of the upcoming movie:

In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World, Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pick up the pieces–one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team.

This is the part where I start crossing my fingers and saying to myself “Please let it be Skye.” Between the synopsis for this week’s episode and this Thor crossover special, there is a slim but good chance that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. could finally be cleaning house with some of their weaker characters in the bunch. There’s plenty of room for improvement with some of the characters that they have, but the weakest in the bunch are Ward and Skye. If they managed to restructure those characters, or flat out kill them off, that would make me a happy viewer.

Are you looking forward to this new Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode?
