Entourage: The Complete Series

Some context: in 2012, Doug Ellin, creator of the bro-mance fantasia that was the HBO TV series Entourage, had penned a script for a feature-film continuation of the series, in which Adrien Grenier starred as Vincent Chase, a dude who makes it big in Hollywood and takes his entourage (get it? That’s why the show’s called that!) with him, a tale based in part on producer Mark Wahlberg’s experiences with success.  And in January of this year, Warner Bros. gave Ellin the green light to get the picture made.  And as /Film notes, most of the series’ stars signed on.  And then… nothing.

Earlier this month, when asked when the Entourage film would happen, Wahlberg had this to say: “as soon as them guys stop being so greedy.”  Reportedly, Grenier and actor Jerry Ferrara (a.k.a. Turtle) are holding out for more cash.

And so, like any responsible young man, Grenier took to Instagram to totally let you know it ain’t his fault, bra, you gotta believe him.  He’s always about the brotherhood and the love, ya know?  It ain’t about the green, you know he can already make it rain whenever he wants:

To all Entourage fans. I owe it to you to make a couple things clear. I take my role as Vince on the show & off very seriously. All decisions I make personally & for business are for the principle of friendship and brotherhood. It has, & never will be about the money for me. I promise. I will always stand up for the boys (that includes you) & do what I can to make sure they are treated fairly, and not be taken advantage of by anybody. The spirit of Entourage is about sharing the opportunities given to us and I will sign any deal that gives ALL the boys an opportunity to share in the upside of success EQUALLY. I assure you, despite the perception, there is no greed in my heart. Remember, it will all work out in the end. It always does. —— I will try to answer questions with hashtag #entourageboysshare

Grenier then went on to not answer a single question with the “entourageboysshare” hashtage, perhaps realizing what a ridiculous hashtag it was to begin with.

What do you think of the Entourage news?
