rocket-raccoon-comics

Perhaps one of the most interesting looking characters in the Guardians of the Galaxy cast is the kickass CG raccoon running around shooting guns at any bad guys that comes his way. Yes, I’m referring to none other than Rocket Raccoon, who is voiced by Bradley Cooper – which I constantly forget about every time I ask who’s voicing that character. Any who, it looks like one of his co-stars has nothing but good things to say about the character.

The general audience has little to no idea as to what’s really going on behind most of these characters, who they are and what they’re all about. While we’re still a ways away from receiving video featurettes that give us better introductions to each character, we’ll just have to rely on research and the incredibly good word of mouth that Chris Pratt is giving about having Bradley Cooper voicing Rocket Raccoon and a little insight on the character himself:

You think it’s a cartoon character, but it’s not, it’s a very real creature. [Rocket Raccoon has been] tortured his whole life and no one else likes him, so he’s lonely and he’s angry and it’s like, [there are] all these elements [to the character]. You sort of forget about that, you wouldn’t think about, [and] hopefully will come to life. I think it will and that’s why they hired a really good actor to do the role. I could not be more excited that Bradley Cooper is voicing Rocket Raccoon. It’s a great character. It’s probably the best character in the movie, just because it’s not what you would expect.

If you’re not entirely familiar with the character, I highly recommend picking up one of the Guardians of the Galaxy comics and educating yourself. The movie doesn’t open in theaters until July 31st, 2014 so you’ve still got some time.

Are you going to see Guardians of the Galaxy on it’s opening night?
