Superhero movies are susceptible to dealing with one too many villains, and that’s a big problem. The villains have continued to multiply with each movie and boy is it becoming a headache to see. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 continues this unnecessary trend, and may be doing so to the umpteenth degree with what new information popped up online today.
Earlier today on an official Spider-Man viral website, a latest posting from the fictitious Daily Bugle reveals that we may be seeing more than just Electro and The Rhino in the upcoming sequel… and maybe a pinch of the creation of the Green Goblin while we’re at it. Continue reading on to see what the paper says:
“Despite the assault on Oscorp Tower two weeks ago and the revelation that disgruntled Oscorp employee, Dr. Curt Connors, was responsible for the attack, Oscorp’s stock has climbed four points.
“Oscorp spokesman Douglas Menken provided some details from the meeting, including that the construction on the prototype alternative energy power plant, complete with hydroelectric tower, is on schedule for completion within the next year.
“Other highlights included a preview of a flight harness for the military and significant advancements in robotics by the head of the engineering division, Spencer Smythe.”
For those of you who are avid Spider-Man comic book fans, the name Spencer Smythe should ring some bells. At one point in the comics he’s a man who’s hired by J. Jonah Jameson to hunt down our favorite web-slinger. Maybe we’ll see him create the machines they would need to bring him down, but I hope we don’t just yet. We’ve already got two villains in this movie and we certainly don’t need a third or a fourth, unless there’s another one that we don’t even know about just yet.
Are you satisfied with the villains that are going to pop up in The Amazing Spider-Man 2?
