Early next year, Kellan Lutz, of Twilight fame, will play the greatest Greek hero of all time in Renny Harlin‘s Hercules: The Legend Begins. Millennium has released a brand-new action-packed trailer that shows off Lutz’s hot physique, but unfortunately doesn’t do a whole lot to get us excited about this CGI-heavy movie. Check out the clip below.
The Legend Begins is not to be confused with the Dwayne Johnson movie, which is also being released next year. The latter is directed by Brett Ratner, and it’s based on popular graphic novel titled Hercules: The Thracian Wars. Even though we don’t have high-hopes for that one either, it just has to be better-looking than this one (you’ll see why in a second).
Harlin’s Hercules tells the origin story of the Greek hero, and there’s also some love and war in the mix. The trailer, which pretty much lays out everything that you’ll see in the movie, shows Hercules being shipped off to Egypt and away from the love of his life. The movie stars Gaia Weiss as Hercules’ love interest Hebe and the supporting cast includes Liam McIntyre (Spartacus), Scott Adkins (The Expendables 2) and Roxanne McKee.
The movie hits theaters March 2013. Here’s the trailer:
