For years there’s been a lot of talk about whether or not Ridley Scott and Harrison Ford would team up again to make the Blade Runner sequel that nobody wants. Ford has been successfully dodging the questions for awhile now, as he should be, but this time around he spouted a decent answer.

In a recent interview with IGN, Harrison Ford was asked the inevitable question as to whether or not there would be another Blade Runner movie in our future. In the most polite way possible, he gives a response that pretty much says for everyone to back off.

“I truly admire Ridley as a man and as a director, and I would be very happy to engage with him again in the further telling of this story.”

That doesn’t exactly mean they’re going to be making another movie anytime soon. There is little to no enthusiasm when it comes to anybody wanting to go back to the world of Blade Runner and add an additional story. What’s the point? The open-ending, the sharp storytelling and direction is what makes that movie stand out. It’s one of those unique, beautiful films that makes a big cinematic impact on audiences and pops out once every few years. You can’t simply just recreate the emotion that the first one gave each and every one of us with this unnecessary sequel. Ford made the right move in giving us an answer like that. At the very least it will shut some fans up.
