Things are quickly speeding up in The Avengers: Age of Ultron department—James Spader has already confirmed he’s going in for motion-capture, and Sam Jackson leaked the confirmation that Elizabeth Olsen will be portraying Scarlet Witch. And now, we have news that Aaron Taylor-Johnson, star of the Kick-Ass series, will play Scarlet Witch’s brother, Quicksilver.
The news comes courtesy of Latino Review (while not an official confirmation, Latino Review tends to be impressively on point when calling this stuff), who reports that Taylor-Johnson has already inked a deal to play Quicksilver (who, somewhat confusingly, will also be a character in X-Men: Days of Future Past and will be played by a different actor). Apparently, Marvel wanted the actor to bring the same bland, personality-less performance style that marked his place in the Kick-Ass franchise to The Avengers: Age of Ultron. At least we know there will likely be someone more boring than Hawkeye in the film now, right?
The Avengers: Age of Ultron is set for a May 1, 2015, and will star Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, and James Spader.
