disney frozen

A couple of years ago Disney princess fans were delighted to see that Disney Animation Studios was getting back on its game, impressing audiences everywhere with the adorable film Tangled. Now they’re continuing the latest wave of Disney princess animated films with their upcoming movie Frozen.

What may be the most interesting thing about the trailer is that we don’t really get too much of a glimpse as to how the story of the Snow Queen will unfold. All we get is a few laughs, a couple of interesting action scenes and the briefest of explanations saying that the Snow Queen was responsible for casting this indefinite winter on this summer-y town. The animation looks beautiful, as always but it’s not too surprising as to why they didn’t really sell the big story of the Snow Queen just yet. The last thing Disney wants to do is make us feel a little sad with their first official trailer for this movie.

If you were one of the lucky few to make your way out to the D23 Expo this year, you know there’s more to this story. We’re not only talking about the origin of the Snow Queen Elsa (Idina Menzel), but her relationship with Anna (Kristen Bell), her younger sister who gets caught up in this quest to save the town from the eternal winter. Disney animation is back in their stride so we’re definitely looking forward to this movie when it comes out in theaters on November 27th.
