We all know that Marvel has pretty much taken the film world by storm, but we had no idea how much of an impact they would make on television. Last night the first episode aired for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and with that came a slew of viewers who transformed this spinoff show into the most watched drama out there last night.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. managed to beat out a couple of other season premieres of The Voice and NCIS. This isn’t the biggest surprise in the world, considering that Disney/Marvel has been showing off little snippets of the show for awhile, teasing the fans with what’s to come. Ever since the show was first announced there’s been a lot of buzz circling around it, especially when referring to Agent Coulson, a man who we believed to be dead towards the end of The Avengers. Since we’re barely at the start of the season there’s a lot of questions that need to be answered and apparently there’s a very big audience that’s more than happy to see these stories unfold, especially adults in the 18-49 demographic who catapulted this show into the most watched debut drama within the past five years.

If this keeps up, there is a good possibility that Marvel could bring another superhero or a team into the television fold. We would love to recommend for them to bring Runaways out of limbo if that’s the case. Come on Marvel, give them a chance! Also, if you missed it, here’s our review of the first episode.
