Saoirse Ronan is one of the most in-demand actresses in Hollywood, if the completely unverifiable rumor mill that loudly fuels the internet like a gigantic hamster-wheel is any indication: not only was she reportedly up for—and then reportedly passed—on the role of Scarlet Witch in The Avengers: Age of Ultron (the sequel to one of the most financially successful films in human history), but now the all-seeing yet fickle oracle that is The Internet now tells us that she is up for an unspecified role in the as-yet officially-untitled Star Wars Episode VII.

Latino Review (a site which admittedly often gets this stuff right) is now reporting a rumor that Ronan is up for a role in Star Wars Episode VII because she is now apparently the female Ryan Gosling—whenever a new high-profile film franchise is announced, everyone just assumes Gosling is going to be cast in it.  That said, Latino Review is noting that Ronan “read for” a role in the highly anticipated Star Wars sequel, which doesn’t exactly mean much—hell, I could read for a role in that film, but you could still eventually see Ryan Gosling as Han Solo’s kid instead of me.  So, Ronan fans, don’t get too excited just yet.

What do you think of the Star Wars news?
