Next week marks two big moments for Marvel Studios: on Tuesday, September 24th, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will premiere and mark the first expansion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the world of television, and the Iron Man 3 blu-ray will be released. And, as you may recall, Iron Man 3 will feature the short film “Agent Carter,” which stars Hayley Atwell tells the story of Agent Peggy Carter post-Captain America: The First Avenger, as well as the origins of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Fairly big week for both Marvel and the S.H.I.E.L.D. mythology, no?
Well, that mythology may be getting a little bit bigger—Marvel Studios is looking to expand the Louis D’Esposito-directed “Agent Carter” into its own television show, featuring the exploits of Peggy Carter against the backdrop of a world in which S.H.I.E.L.D. is just beginning to get its bearings.
As Coming Soon notes, when “Agent Carter” was screened at Comic-Con this year, Marvel Studios executive producer Victoria Alonso asked Atwell during a Q&A session if she would ever appear in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Atwell simply responded with “Well, if the scripts are good.”
Both Iron Man 3 and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will see a September 24th release.
