We’ve already seen a few trailers for Alfonso Cuarón’s new film Gravity, starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock. And despite being both terrifying and excellent, the trailers were basically all windup and pitch—Sandra Bullock is an astronaut performing a space-walk when something goes wrong, and Bullock is flung, untethered, into space. The newest trailer, though, follows through with what happens after that, and it’s spooky as all hell.
One can see why director James Cameron has called this “the best” space movie ever—even if that’s a little hard to believe (I mean, 2001: A Space Odyssey, right?), the film does look great, as the new trailer highlights the destruction of Clooney and Bullock’s space shuttle, and finds them clinging to one another, literally and figuratively, as they run out of air and ways to make it back home. Check it out:
Scary stuff, no?
Gravity has been earning rave reviews, and seems to be one of the big contenders for the ‘Hey, Now That All Of The Mediocre Summer Movies Have Come And Gone, You Can Actually Enjoy New Films Again’ season. The film is set to open on October 4.
