Taking full advantage of the crass and anything-goes format, the red-band trailer for Neighbors goes full-bore for gross-out humor, even going so far as showing a newborn baby eating a used condom. So if that’s your thing, dig the red-band trailer below.
Directed by Nick Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek, The Five-Year Engagement), Neighbors finds Seth Rogen stretching his legs and playing the straight-man role, as a husband to Rose Byrne and a new parent. The new parents are enjoying their affluent suburban neighborhood when the worst happens: they get terrible neighbors. Specifically, a frat buys the house next door and turns it into a frat party pad, led by Zac Efron.
The film seems poised to be a rejuvenation of the slobs vs. snobs genre of the 80s (Animal House, Porky’s, Revenge of the Nerds, etc.), with the exception being that Neighbors is told from the point of view of (and seems to align with) the snobs rather than the slobs. Oh yeah, and some red-band humor. Check it out:
Co-starring Dave Franco, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Lisa Kudrow, Neighbors is set for a May 9, 2014 release date.
