If you’re one who’s on the search for a great television show to really get into, then you should really start watching LutherThe unfortunately short-lived BBC show is available for everybody to see and may gain a bigger fan base if creator Neil Cross has anything to do with it.

We’ve already received a little taste of incredible actor Idris Elba on the big screen this past summer with Pacific Rim, but boy a lot of us Luther fans would be happy if there was any chance of him appearing in a sudden prequel based off his hit BBC television series. Elba has expressed interest in making this a reality, and it looks like show creator Neil Cross may be able to make this happen. What makes it even better is that it’ll be a prequel, so we’ll be seeing more of detective chief inspector John Luther hard at work before his life got turned upside down. It’s a lot better than trying to piece a movie together that takes place in between a season, which would be silly to see.

The supposed Luther prequel will center on “The detective’s career in the earlier days, when he is still married to Zoe, and the final scene in the film is the first of the initial TV series,” says The Hollywood Reporter. Since the series is already over with we hope that this gets off the ground by next year like the show creator hopes to do.
