  • Crimson Peak Loses Benedict Cumberbatch: Crimson Peak will no longer star Benedict Cumberbatch. The actor has dropped the Guillermo Del Toro project. Charlie Hunnam, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska are still onboard. Word from THR reports is that Legendary and del Toro are already on the hunt for a new lead. The film begins shooting in January.
  • Two Wire Actors Join New Projects: Idris Elba has been cast as the lead in Cary Fukunaga‘s Beasts of No Nation, which is based on a novel by Uzodinma Iweala about a young West Afridan man who is forced to join a band of mercenaries. Elba will play the role of commander. Williams, on the other hand, has joined Spike Lee‘s Kickstarter project, now title Da Blood of Jesus. There’s no word on what role Williams will play. Lee has said that the film will be about “human beings who are addicted to Blood. Funny, sexy and bloody.” Source: /Film
  • Netflix And Weinstein Company Make Deal: Deadline reports that Netflix and The Weinstein Company have announced a new deal that will make the video streaming company the exclusive U.S. subscription television service for “first-run films from TWC beginning in 2016.” This means that Netflix members will be able to watch instantly any new titled from TWC and Dimensions Films.   • Natalie Dormer Joins Hunger Games: Mockingjay: Natalie Dormer is that latest actress to join The Hunger Games. She’ll appear in Mockingjay Part 1 and Part 2 as Cressida, the “resident director from the Capitol who joins the Districts’ revolt and turns it into a must-see post-apocalyptic TV. Mockingjay won’t hit theaters ’til late 2014, but Catching Fire will arrive later this year, with Jennifer Lawrence reprising her role as Katniss Everdeen. Source: E! 
  • Cute Star Wars Gallery: Unreality Magazine posted a very cute gallery of Star Wars illustrations. They’re a cross between “LEGO minifigs and chibis.” Check it out.


  • Pompeii Teaser Trailer: Here’s the trailer for Paul W.S. Anderson‘s epic disaster movie Pompeii, which stars Kit Harinton and Emily Browning. The film is set in the days leading up to the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. It focuses on a slave who travels by ship to get home to save the woman he loves and his best friend. Pompeii hits theaters February 21, 2014.

  • Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Extended Trailer: The premiere of Joss Whedon‘s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is almost here (September 24th). ABC has released an extended trailer for the TV show. Check it out:

  • Homeland Trailer: Here’s a new trailer for Homeland. It’s slow and simple, featuring Adele singing the Cure‘s “Love Song.” The new season premieres September 29, 2013.
