Aside from revealing a Thor and Loki team-up, the last teaser for Thor: The Dark World, didn’t feature much—as we noted at the time, it was basically some big and hammy narration from Anthony Hopkins, a lot of heavily CG’d environments, Natalie Portman looking at things in constant surprise, and Thor smashing stuff with a great big hammer. Which is what makes this new trailer so much more enjoyable—while it still has the prerequisite CGI battle scenes and booming, “hey, it worked for Inception trumpet bleats,” it features more humor, more peeks at the villains, and, of course, more mullets of the gods. So many mullets of the gods.
The one thing missing? Not much of the film’s Big Bad, Malekith (Christopher Eccleston) in the trailer—most of the ads thus far seem to be pushing the return of Loki more than anything else. Check it out:
Thor: The Dark World was directed by Alan Taylor and stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, and Kat Dennings, and is set for a November 8th release date.
What do you think of the Thor: The Dark World trailer—just enough god-mullets, or could it have used more?
