Every now and then a sequel comes along that even those people who hate sequels will somehow appreciate it. That movie, dear friends, is Muppets Most Wanted. Those cute little fuzzy characters induce so much warmth and happiness that’s it’s hard not to be excited for another movie starring Kermit The Frog, Miss Piggy and Fozzie Bear. And Disney just released a teaser trailer promising tons of fun. Check it out.
The teaser trailer seems to share very little with the 2011 movie, which sort of renewed our love with these charming characters. That’s not to say that it looks bad though. This trailer just makes the sequel looks a bit more adventurous and action-y. There are tons of cameos, singing numbers and big-spectacle things. The narrator even promises this to be the greatest motion picture of all time.
Directed by James Bobin (The Muppets, Flight Of The Conchords), the sequel joins the Muppets with big TV-comedians like Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey and Ty Burrell. This time the gang goes on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine—the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit—and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two (played by Gervais). Muppets Most Wanted opens in theaters March 21, 2014.
What do you think? Are you looking forward to this sequel?
