So by now you’ve certainly heard the big news out of the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con: that the Man of Steel sequel will concern a battle between Superman and Batman (seriously, there’s video of the announcement if you still can’t believe it). And while the film’s plot (which will likely be called Superman Vs. Batman or Batman Vs. Superman) remains totally unknown, the new Superman (Henry Cavill) had some things to say about the film’s approach to Lois Lane and Clark Kent.
Some minor Man of Steel spoilers below. Brace yourselves.
Cavill noted that “it’s essential” in this interpretation of the Superman story that Lois know from the final scene of Man of Steel on into the sequel that Clark Kent is indeed Superman (because, you know, a journalist for one of the biggest papers in the world should be able to notice that someone is just wearing glasses):
“Because if we’re trying to base it in reality, there’s no way that Lois has these direct interactions with Superman, and then doesn’t recognize Clark sitting next to her in the office. If she falls in love with Superman, and she’s ignoring a guy who looks just like Superman, behaves just like him, and has the same kind of mannerisms and behavior, then what does that say about Lois? I like this relationship. She saves him just as much as he saves her.”
Also in Superman Vs. Batman news, while it may not be the most galvanizing or exciting information in the world, rumor now has it that the Man of Steel sequel will be shooting in Toronto rather than Vancouver next year, as the tax credits and incentives that are available for filming in Toronto are simply more beneficial for production than those in Vancouver. Hey, like we said, it wasn’t going to be the most exciting rumor in the world.
What do you think of the Man of Steel sequel info?
