For some reason a number of us were under the impression that director Peter Jackson already completed filming The Hobbit trilogy, which in my opinion shouldn’t have been stretched out into three films in the first place. Well it’s official; Peter Jackson finished filming the trilogy and has a number of pictures to prove it. Did we mention he has a cute wolf-like kitty? Because you’ll be able to see it in one of the pictures below. Go cat people!

Peter Jackson has been busy at work shooting the last pieces of The Hobbit: There And Back Again, which will be released in theaters next year. In celebration of completing the project, the director was able to snap a few fun pictures of everybody on set (including himself). It’s nice seeing behind-the-scenes pictures like that because it shows that it’s not all serious, hardcore fantasy mindset on the set. Everybody is enjoying themselves. After all, it’s not everyday you can say you’re working on one of The Hobbit movies.

There are plenty of Lord of the Rings fans who can’t wait to see what else the fantasy filmmaker will be able to deliver to audiences across the globe. We just hope that it won’t be as incredibly stretched out, and slightly boring, as The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey which was a slight disappointment in itself. For now we’ll sit in quiet anticipation as more footage comes out for the upcoming film. Check out some of the behind-the-scenes pictures below:

Are you looking forward to seeing the last two installments of The Hobbit trilogy?
