Fair warning: you should get used to this.  For the next two years, you are going to be battered with a barrage of casting rumors, plot rumors, plot spoilers, and guesses about when teasers and trailers will be released, all concerning the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII film.  So, either avoid the internet for the next two years, or brace yourselves.  Oh, and for today’s rumor, try this on for size: both Zac Efron and Ryan Gosling are rumored to star in the highly anticipated Star Wars sequel.

Yes, the two near-comically handsome actors are apparently being eyed by J.J. Abrams and Disney for potential roles in the film, according to the usually quite-reliable Latino Review.  Further, rumor has it that Efron is being considered for the role of Luke Skywalker’s son.  Which is actually pretty perfect, because—if the last six Star Wars films are any indication—all you need to play a Skywalker is a blonde actor with really wooden line delivery.  Disney, you may have found your man.

As for Gosling, there’s no real information on who he is being considered to play.  That said, Disney may let some information slip during D23, their upcoming convention in August.

What do you think of the Star Wars rumors?
