While we recently already received a pretty terrifying teaser trailer of Alfonso Cuarón’s (Y Tu Mama Tambien, Children of Men, A Little Princess, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) Gravity, in which George Clooney and Sandra Bullock portray astronauts who become separated and lost in the vast expanse of space, just last May. But during the Gravity panel for Comic-Con 2013, the convention audience was privy to a bevy of new footage from the film. Warner Bros. has now taken a horrifying, two-minute single-take from that footage and made it into a trailer.
In the two-minute clip, which is presented in one take, George Clooney and Sandra Bullock are astronauts engaging in a space walk in Earth’s orbit, during which they are struck with orbiting debris, which sends Bullock hurtling into vast, empty space. It’s pretty much the most terrifying scenario ever.
Dig the trailer below, along with the official synopsis for the film:
GRAVITY, directed by Oscar® nominee Alfonso Cuaron, stars Oscar® winners Sandra Bullock and George Clooney in a heart-pounding thriller that pulls you into the infinite and unforgiving realm of deep space. Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney). But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone—tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.
