As we reported over the weekend—and something you only would have missed if you happened to be in some kind of technological black hole without access to the internet or various forms of social media—the biggest news of the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con was the announcement that the Man of Steel sequel would indeed be happening… and that it would be about a possible conflict between Batman and Superman.

While no hard plot details—outside of Batman’s presence—were released at the Con, this juicy quote from Frank Miller’s seminal graphic novel, The Dark Knight Returns, were read:

I want you to remember, Clark…in all the years to come…in your most private moments…I want you to remember…my hand…at your throat…I want…you to remember…the one man who beat you.

Which more or less gives you a hint at the relationship tone between Supes and the Dark Knight in the upcoming film.  But hey, in the words of Levar Burton, don’t take my word for it, watch the announcement yourself, courtesy of BadTaste (via /Film):

So there you have it—a Batman and Superman film (which will only be truly awesome if Michael Keaton comes back to play Batman, but whatever).

What do you think of the video?
