While we all take a brief break from hyperventilating over the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con news about Batman and Superman joining forces in a new film, let’s enjoy the new Comic-Con trailer for the wildly anticipated The Hunger Games: Catching Fire film that all the kids (and the creepy adults who read Young Adult novels) are all excited about.
The new trailer comes via the cool kids at Yahoo!, and it finds franchise star Katniss Everspleenadeenareen (seriously, why is it that in the future everyone starts making up ridiculous names? Does that happen around the same time we all start wearing silver leotards and get flying cars and bubble cities?) in hot water after winning the last Hunger Games and helping to start off a revolution. Donald Sutherland has a plan to ensnare the young Katniss because he’s old and thus totes evil, you guys. THUS TOTES EVIL. Check it out:
Unsurprisingly, the trailer doesn’t show much from the 75th Annual Hunger Games that are featured in the film; rather, it gives you a taste of all the political and emotional intrigue leading up to the big event. Plus, a scene or two of Philip Seymour Hoffman wondering how the hell he ended up co-starring in a movie with Woody Harrelson and Lenny Kravitz.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is set for a November 22, 2013 release date.
What do you think of the new trailer?
