The Walking Dead let loose with some big news at its 2013 San Diego Comic-Con panel today: not only did the upcoming season four get a nearly five-minute mega-trailer, but a release date. More than that, the series’ fourth season will be split in half, much like the fifth and final season of Breaking Bad.
Much like the sixth and final season of The Sopranos, as well as the aforementioned final season of Breaking Bad, the fourth season of The Walking Dead will be split into two halves; however, it remains to be seen if, much like The Sopranos and Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead will finally ditch its preponderance of narrative cheats and plot wheel-spinning and actually be, you know, consistently good.
But hey, you want that trailer, don’t you? It’s actually pretty great. Check it out:
AMC will begin airing the first eight episodes of The Walking Dead’s fourth season on October 13th, 2013, while the final eight episodes of season four will begin airing at some point in February 2014, just to stretch the tension—milk the ratings—even further.
What do you think of The Walking Dead news? Did you enjoy the trailer?
