The 2013 San Diego Comic-Con goodies just keep on coming today—during the Hall H panel for Riddick, Vin Diesel, David Twohy and Katee Sackhoff not only talked up the third film in the post-apocalyptic series, they debuted an extended NSFW trailer, as well (don’t play it at work unless your boss is cool with graphic violence, monosyllabic leading men, and terrible CGI).
As we’ve noted before, in the film, Riddick has been left for dead on a seemingly barren and scorched desert planet, where he must face off against a series of dangerous alien predators. Desperate, he activates a homing signal, bringing two ships full of bounty hunters ready to kill the anti-hero. The first ship carries “a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent,” while the second ship is led “by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal.” On top of this, a mega-storm is coming that will kill them all, a bunch of aliens are ready to murder both Riddick and the mercs, and Vin Diesel struggles for two hours to offer viable replications of emotion in a grueling process known as “acting.”

Riddick is set for a September 6 release date.
