As we count down the last few days until the launch of the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con, rumors are beginning to bubble upward concerning what surprise announcements will break, what new projects and films will be heralded, and so on.  Already this morning, we’ve reported that 20th Century Fox is teasing “a major surprise” alongside their scheduled The Wolverine and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes panels; no we have information that indicates a new Predator project could be in the offing.

Coming Soon has reported that Facebook page for Predators (yes, the 2010 sequel still has a Facebook page that inexplicably up) has recently been updated with a poster of San Diego presented in the traditional Predator thermal vision, with the following quote from the original Predator film: “There’s something out there waiting for us, and it ain’t no man… We’re all gonna die.”

So, what does this mean—Predator is a 20th Century Fox property, but is the world so hungry for a sequel to Predator and Predators that this would qualify as the “major surprise”?  As much as we love the original, we kind of doubt it.  Could it be another, more minor surprise announcement?  Perhaps a TV series, or a video game, instead of a film?  Hopefully, we’ll know in a few days.
