While Marvel Studios’ wildly ambitious and interconnecting serious of films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe justifiably has gained the movie-viewing world’s attention and money, it seems that 20th Century Fox is quietly amassing its own multi-franchise portrayal of the Marvel comics characters they own—specifically, the X-men universe and its various spin-offs.

While the studio is currently producing the ambitious X-Men: Days of Future Past which, via time travel and parallel universes, will bridge the first three X-Men films with X-Men: First Class, rumors now abound that Fox may be expanding the X-Men film universe by green-lighting a spin-off film based upon the X-Force graphic novels.

According to X-Men Films (via Total Film), Fox has registered the domain name X-forceMove.com.

A harder-edged and more violent team than the X-Men, X-Force came to prominence in the 1990s with such characters as Cable, Warpath, Feral, Shatterstar, Cannonball, Domino, and Boom Boom.

Thus far, there has been no official confirmation from 20th Century Fox concerning the possible development of an X-Force spinoff; however, the San Diego Comic-Con is just around the corner, and 20th Century Fox interestingly has a panel booked for an hour and a half with absolutely no details or description released—as Total Film speculates, perhaps an X-Force announcement is in the offing.
