It seems like we’ve been waiting decades for Guillermo del Toro‘s Pacific Rim. Though he’s been involved in quite a lot of projects, it’s been five years since del Toro last directed a movie (Hellboy II: The Golden Army). Check it out below.

The lengthy video goes deep behind the scenes of the giant blockbuster. Charlie Day, Ron Perlman, Idris Elba and Charlie Hunnam all talk about about the story of the film and the process of making Pacific Rim with del Toro. They all seem thrilled to have worked with the hard-working director. Del Toro also talks about the kind of world he wanted to create for the movie, and Legendary Pictures CEO Thomas Tull praises del Toro for his unique vision. Here’s the video:

So far, the reviews seem to be positive. Critics who’ve seen the film praise it for its adventurous spirit and gorgeous special effects. Pacific Rim will be hitting in 3D and IMAX 3D on Friday, July 12th, in the US and UK.
