In a few months, Vin Diesel will return to the big screen as someone other than Dominic Toretto. That’s right, after nearly a decade since the actor portrayed Richard B. Riddick, he will will reprise his role as the dangerous anti-hero in Universal’s Riddick. The studio has released a new international trailer for the summer movie, along with a Comic-Con poster that emphasizes Diesel’s sci-fi character.
In Riddick, directed by David Twohy, Vin Diesel’s Furian warrior (which was first introduced in 2000′s Pitch Black) is left for dead on a desolate planet. Shortly thereafter he finds himself fighting against alien predators and bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy. The new international trailer shows Riddick fighting both, and the aliens are extra slimy. Diesel’s presence is strong, and he gets some cool lines that make this film look better than the others. While the release of the film is still months away (September 6), Riddick is expected to have a big presence at Comic-Con (which is only a month away). Diesel took some time to promote the film on his Facebook. He unveiled a totally awesome Comic-Con poster where he’s covered with buckets of blood. Here it is:
What do you think? Are you looking forward to Riddick?
