Fans of big burly guys armed with capes, codpieces and swords who do a bunch of slow-motion punching, yelling and kicking in front of green screens, have we ever got a trailer for you. That’s right, the trailer for 300: Rise of an Empire—the sequel to Zack Snyder’s incredibly goofy film 300—is finally here and ready to excite bros in the 15 to 25 age bracket.
And from the look of the trailer, if you enjoyed 300, you’ll enjoy 300: Rise of an Empire, as the Noam Murro-directed effort looks exactly like the first film. The film tells the story of Greek general Themistokles as he faces down the Xerxes (the really tall and elongated Big Bad from the first film) and his Persian army, along with Eva Green’s Artemisia and her naval fleet. A bunch of kicking and punching ensues, and then some things blow up, and Lena Headey shows up to take revenge for the events of the first film. Check it out:
So there you go.
300: Rise of an Empire is set for a March 7, 2014 release, and co-stars Sullivan Stapleton and Rodrigo Santoro.
